There are two ways you may be working:
1) using only GitHub Web Interface, or
2) Using GitHub Desktop (or command lines and local repositories).

Using Only GitHub Web

The process involves:

  1. Give the steps to committing the changes

  2. Give steps to creating the pull request

  3. Explain how to monitor the conversation.

  4. Explain what to do if changes are needed.

Using GitHub Desktop

The process involves:

  1. Give the steps to committing the changes

  2. Give steps to creating the pull request

  3. Be careful to explain how the push to origin works from GitHub Desktop

  4. Give the extra steps (if any) on the web interface to make the pull request.

  5. Explain how to monitor the conversation.

  6. Explain what to do if changes are needed.
